Following the "truly awfull" theory

A friend of mine once told me that when something is truly truly awfull, it loops over and becomes good stuff (q.v. Fernando Mano, CPSE). Well, if something exemplifies such a theory, it has got to be this movie (and most of the stuff reviewed on the main site):

I laughed so much reading the review that I must concede to that theory. Will try to download the movie to check if watching the movie is as enjoying an experience as reading its reviews.

Electronic Music for work

This just in:
http://www.digitallyimported.com/

Nice mix of electronic rythms, interesting site. If you ask me, that's the best kind of music to use as soundtrack for the workplace, as you don't get distracted by the lyrics.

So, if you want to program or write something to the sound of trance, enjoy the links.

Señor Coconut !!

Now this is something I have heard a couple of years ago, which was a bunch of "reinterpretations" of Kraftwerk songs in latin rythms. Now the guy strikes again.

Hail to the Coconut:

Two things today

First of all, I'm really curious about this Ruby programming language (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruby_programming_language), will definetely try to download and give it a try.

Secondly, I was delighted to see the parody the guys at The Onion have made about those "Intelligent " stuff (http://www.theonion.com/news/index.php?issue=4133&n=2). Now come on, that makes me very sceptic about the guys who made it into the moon from that same country. How would they try to reach Mars?! I mean, if they keep on going to that direction, they are going to try what? The new "Jerusalem V" a prayer-driven rocket with 10.000 people on the body praying for the rocket to lift off, yeah, that sounds about right.

Geez, I can't help but do this shitty tests on OkCupid!

Truly Warped
Congratulations, its over! You scored 55%

You probably enjoyed taking this test as much as I enjoyed writing it. Some of those blatantly fucked up questions just called your name, even though you knew that they were wrong. Based on your morbid sense of humor, your probably Irish.... Hope you enjoyed the test!

Nothing like doing tests on a boring sunday...

College Radio fan
Congratulations! You scored 14!

I suspect you own the odd record by a British indie band, and probably like Monty Python. You have potential, but you're not living up to it.

Ah, more of those time-waster tests...

INFJ - the counselor
You scored 45% I to E, 26% N to S, 38% F to T, and 42% J to P!

Your type is best summed up by the word "counselor", which belongs to the larger group of idealists. Only 2% of the population share your type. You are so empathic that you often know what others need before they know themselves. You are a complex person who can deal with complicated issues and people, almost prefer to, as you love problem solving. You can be something of an idealist or perfectionist, and should try to take yourself a little less seriously.
You are a supportive and insightful romantic partner, encouraging your mate to have dreams and work hard to make those dreams come true. Because you are so creative, you have a wealth of ideas to help them toward those goals. You need harmony so much that you are driven to resolve conflict quickly, as long as the terms don't violate your ethics. You feel the most appreciated when your partner admires your creativity, trusts your inspirations, and respects your values. It is also vitally important that your partner be open and emotionally available - in other words, that they be willing to share themselves completely.

Your group summary: idealists (NF)

Your type summary: INFJ

Documentary Tip

Now these are incredibly interesting and appropriate documentaries as we remember the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Now that's a picture of how mad the "powers" in our world are.

I wonder if all that effort was channelled towards actual space exploration, rather than weapons buildup.

Another semi-useless web survey

Which Fantasy/SciFi Character Are You?

Semi useless web survey

I Am A: Chaotic Good Elf Ranger Fighter

Alignment:
Chaotic Good characters are independent types with a strong belief in the value of goodness. They have little use for governments and other forces of order, and will generally do their own things, without heed to such groups.

Race:
Elves are the eldest of all races, although they are generally a bit smaller than humans. They are generally well-cultured, artistic, easy-going, and because of their long lives, unconcerned with day-to-day activities that other races frequently concern themselves with. Elves are, effectively, immortal, although they can be killed. After a thousand years or so, they simply pass on to the next plane of existance.

Primary Class:
Rangers are the defenders of nature and the elements. They are in tune with the Earth, and work to keep it safe and healthy.

Secondary Class:
Fighters are the warriors. They use weapons to accomplish their goals. This isn't to say that they aren't intelligent, but that they do, in fact, believe that violence is frequently the answer.

Deity:
Solonor Thelandria is the Chaotic Good elven god of archery and the hunt. He is also known as the Keen Eye, the Great Archer, and the Forest Hunter. His followers respect nature, and only hunt when needed, but are quick to defend the forest from intruders. Their favorite weapon is the bow, and they tend to be extremely talented with it. Solonor Thelandria's symbol is an arrow with green fletchings.
